GREENPOWER GOBLIN

The Greenpower Goblin programme introduces Year 5 and Year 6 pupils to engineering through smaller electric kit cars. Younger students from our local primary feeder schools (Wells, Burnham Market, Langham and Hindringham), work alongside our APHS STEM Club members, learning practical skills while being mentored by older students in our purpose-built STEM Shed.

It's become one of our favourite ways to inspire future engineers before they even join secondary school!

APHS HERCULES

Our first Goblin G2 Car!

Hercules arrived after the opening of the STEM Shed in 2024, creating exciting opportunities for pupils from our feeder primary schools to experience real engineering projects.

Named after the legendary hero, Hercules represents strength, perseverance and teamwork. In 2025, at Scottow Enterprise Park, our new primary team made their competitive debut with Hercules, and the young engineers celebrated an impressive 1st place in the Drag event and 3rd place in the Sprint, proving that hard work, teamwork and determination really do pay off.

Highlights

First Greenpower Goblin G2 kit car, funded by Dudgeon Community Fund via Norfolk Community Foundation
Opened Greenpower to Year 5 and 6 pupils from local feeder primary schools (2024)
Created a mentoring pathway between primary and secondary students
1st Place Drag Event and 3rd Place Sprint Event (Norfolk Goblin Event 2025)

Season 1 - Our first Primary Team

Our first Primary STEM Club team built the G2 Goblin Kit Car from scratch, led by Faith (Year 5) and supported by our experienced APHS STEM Club mentors. Greenpower's step-by-step YouTube tutorials were invaluable, helping the team work more independently while developing their practical engineering skills and confidence throughout the build.

Season 2 - 2026

Our second primary team of Year 5 and 6 pupils made an excellent competitive start, bringing home not one, but two trophies from their first Norfolk Goblin event! Their impressive results in the Drag and Sprint events showed just what our young engineers could achieve through teamwork, determination and plenty of practice!

APHS G1 Goblin

Our 1st-Gen G1 Goblin - name to be decided!

Our newest (although second-hand) Greenpower Goblin G1 car allows even more younger pupils to join the programme, helping us inspire the next generation of engineers through hands-on STEM experiences.

Although it hasn't been officially named yet, it made a memorable first outing in the Wells Carnival Parade, taking on the role of Penelope Pitstop's car as part of our APHS STEM Club Wells Wacky Races float!
